“Still Monster” by ENHYPEN is about hoping that one will eventually be able to embrace one’s insecurities through the love and acceptance of someone else. The evolution of the lyrics from “still a monster” to “not a monster” shows the singers' conflicting perspective on themselves and how their loved one helps them to accept themselves as who they are.

Still Monster lyrics

Heeseung, Jake]
It's as if nothing happened
As if I didn't have it
She looks at me
With shadowless eyes
But I know
The abyss within me
With one's mouth open
You're waiting for me
The pure nape of her neck keeps driving me crazy
It throws me into an uncontrollable desire
I've been forgiven so many times
And was born again
Still a monster
How dare you, baby (Hey)
My heart craves it
Even though I'm such a monster (Save me)
What is love? You teach (Hey)
Love to me
In the end, the answer is always only you, ooh (Oh, I'm a)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Still a monster
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Still a monster
Without you, I'm empty
Only this darkness remains (Only darkness remains)
It's going to hit me
A long-suffering déjà vu, oh
You're the only savior to me full of scars
You're the only one who taught me how to see myself
I can only be me when I'm by your side
I'm not a monster
Jungwon, Jay]
How dare you, baby (Hey)
My heart craves it
Even though I'm such a monster (Save me)
What is love? You teach (Hey)
Love to me
In the end, the answer is always only you, ooh (Oh, I'm a)
I'm scared (Oh, oh)
Of every night without you (Hey, hey
I'd definitely
Get ruined (Ooh-ooh, ooh)
I'm anxious (Oh, oh)
I hold your hand again
I want you to hold me tight
How dare you, baby (Hey; Baby)
My heart craves it (Oh, yeah)
Even though I'm such a monster (Save me)
What is love? You teach (To me)
Love to me
In the end, the answer is always only you, ooh (Oh, I'm a)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Still a monster (Monster)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na
I'm not a monster (Not a monster)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Still a monster (Monster)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na
I'm not a monster (Oh, I'm a)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
Still a monster (Monster)
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na
I'm not a monster (Monster
