Tobacco Sunburst by The Neighbourhood

Artist: The Neighbourhood

Genre: Pop

Length: 4:56

“Tobacco Sunburst” is the moody 10th and penultimate track on The Neighbourhood’s fourth studio album Chip Chrome & the Mono-Tones. The song is an immense and slow-burning ballad that transitions into the final track, “Middle of Somewhere,” almost perfectly. Whilst the instrumental evokes images of Californian forest fires and the scent of woody smoke, Jesse’s cryptic and abstract lyrics set a moody and despondent tone.

Tobacco Sunburst lyrics

Left with a black eye
That was the worst I've felt
In a long, long time
I caught a red eye
Back to the West side
In the Tobacco Sunburst sky
Looked in those brown eyes
I thought I found myself
Damn, it's been a while
Looking in your blue eyes
Never knew I'd lose myself
In the Tobacco Sunburst sky, I
I
I
Oh, I
I'll turn a blind eye
Looking on the bright side now
Hell, I'll give it a try
Looking in your green eyes
Never knew I'd need your help
I don't wanna wait any more time (any more time)
Sick of watchin' those flames burn bright (burn bright)
I don't wanna wait any more time (any more time)
Sick of watchin' those days roll on by
